The series of graphic works “Constellations of Memory” explores the nature of memory as a special space in which the past continues to exist after the disappearance of the events and people themselves.
The project is based on an appeal to the visual archive of childhood: family photographs, images of popular culture, architecture and objects that form the emotional environment of early experience. These fragments form a multi-layered system of images, where personal memory is intertwined with the collective cultural symbols of the era.
The figures in the works are devoid of individual features and turned into dark silhouettes filled with starry space. This artistic gesture emphasizes the gradual dissolution of specific individuals in time. The people who once made up our world remain in memory like light — like stars that continue to be visible even after they are no longer there.
The compositions are built as a kind of memory map. Text fragments, architectural motifs, children’s toys and media images form layers through which the process of remembering manifests itself. Memory here appears not as a precise recording of the past, but as a living mechanism of reconstruction, where real events, cultural images and imagination are combined into a single visual structure. Thus, the series turns to the idea of “memoryprints” — traces of people, images and experiences that continue to shape our perception of the present, even when they themselves already belong to the past.
